HYDRAULICS

Hydraulics 1

A thorough understanding of interpreting hydraulic schematics and the overall basic operation of hydraulic components and systems are crucial skills required by persons working on TMMs. A shortage of this skill however remains in industry and therefore it is crucial for any person working in the repair and maintenance of mobile mining equipment to attend this course.

  • Qualified and semi-skilled artisans working on mobile equipment which utilises hydraulic systems.
  • It is assumed that the learner has already learned the use of measuring equipment, understands workings principles of mechanical components and systems. It is also assumed that the learner knows how to maintain a safe and productive working environment.
  • It is assumed that the learner be competent in Mathematical Literacy and Communication at NQF Level 1.

Hydraulics 2

  • After the completion of Hydraulics1, the candidate will be able to interpret hydraulic schematics and also have an understanding of the working principles of hydraulic systems and components. In Hydraulics 2, the candidate will be exposed to the electrical systems controlling and interacting with hydraulics systems
  • Qualified and semi-skilled artisans working on mobile equipment which utilises hydraulic systems.
  • It is assumed that the learner has already learned the use of measuring equipment, understands workings principles of mechanical components and systems as well as the understanding basic electrical circuits. This includes the reading and interpreting of electrical schematics.
  • It is also assumed that the learner knows how to maintain a safe and productive working environment. It is assumed that the learner be competent in Mathematical Literacy and Communication at NQF Level 1.

Hydraulics 3

  • Proportional hydraulics enhances the efficiency and precision of hydraulic systems. These systems are commonly found on mobile equipment using hydraulic systems. It is important for persons working on these machines to understand the working principles of proportional hydraulics.
